Cleaning my closet
While recently cleaning out my closet, I came across a box of old memorabilia that had been sitting there since 1995. As I started to go through the contents I found all of my old awards, medals and photos from my career with Mary Kay. So many great memories came rushing back into my mind.
When my youngest child was born I decided to stay home to spend more time with my three children, but I knew I wanted to continue working in some form or fashion. Over a conversation with my good friend and meeting with the sales director with Mary Kay cosmetics I decided to join their team. It offered me a challenge and flexibility.
How Mary Kay changed me
I talk about my career with Mary Kay for one reason: being involved with the company is what made me today the self-confident woman and entrepreneur that I am. From pink showcase to three consecutive company pink cars. Do you believe in the saying that if you can dream it, you can achieve it???? I certainly do.
Meeting Mary Kay
I travelled all over The States for management conferences, but the most memorable one is when I went to Dallas for my Director Debut and had the honor to be trained by Mary Kay herself. I was a woman who came from Egypt with some knowledge of English and very shy. At the time, I could hardly speak in front of two people. After meeting with Mary Kay I was able to train my unit 100 plus consultants as well as be on stage at the O'Keefe center receiving awards and making a speech in front of thousands of people.
After being with the company for over ten years, I lost my dear mom and decided to resign as senior director and move on to the next chapter of my life. That chapter is Laila Fahmi Sleepwear and I couldn’t be more proud of the products we’re bringing to you.
